Charlie St. Cloud is a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother. After the funeral, Charlie has seen the spirit of his brother, who reminds him of the promise.
Charlie meets a girl who was Tess, and develops a relationship with him. As he grows closer to Tess, Charlie realizes that he is growing more distant from his brother. Charlie is torn between honoring his commitment and moving forward with his newfound love.
